Applications for non-residents/visitors to Ireland to bring a shotgun into Ireland. 

If you are importing the firearm to Ireland for the purpose of competing in ICTSA events, forward the completed form to ICTSA by email and complete payment of the fees on this page.

For visitors importing firearms into Ireland for any other purpose you should forward the documentation to the Firearms and Explosives Licensing Unit of the Department of Justice, and make payment directly to the Department of Justice. 

 Transfer document will issue directly to successful applicants by the Department of Justice.

Individuals importing from a member state of the EU

Read these instructions carefully before submitting your application. Complete the attached application form.

Make sure you have filled in:
(a) the exact make and model of the firearm
(b) the correct Category A-C (PDF - 88KB)

Attach to the application a copy of the valid firearms certificate for the firearm or ammunition to be imported. In addition you are required to send a copy of your European Firearms Pass (EFP).

You can fill in the form using type or in handwriting.  If completing it in handwriting please use black ink and block capitals.

Individuals importing from a country which is not a member of the EU:

Complete the attached form fully. Make sure you have filled in:
(a) the exact make and model of the firearm
(b) the correct Category A-C (PDF - 88KB)
Category B (PDF - 88KB)
